How do I set up an account?

You will need to already be an account customer with McGraw-Hill before you are able to register on McGraw-Hill CSS . Please contact Customer Service on +44 (0)1628 502720 or email: css_help@mcgraw-hill.com for further information.

Registration

Once registered you will receive an initial email from us that will provide you with temporary log on details. Once you have received this email, log on using the temporary details given. You will automatically be asked to create a new password for security reasons. Please note that your new password will need to have between 6-20 characters and must contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number. Once all the fields are completed correctly, press change and a pop up message will appear to advise 'Your Account has been successfully activated, please click here to log on'.

What happens if I forget my password?

Click on the 'forgot my password?' option on the log in page and your new password will be sent to your email address you set up on your account. Please note that you will be prompted to renew/reactivate your password every 90 days.

How do I change my password?

If you would like to update/change your password click on the 'Change Password' tab at the top of the screen. This will prompt you to type in your old password and enter a new password and confirm it. Please note that your new password will need to have between 6-20 characters and must contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number. Once all the fields are completed correctly, press change and a pop up message will appear to advise you this has been done successfully. You will then be returned to the Home Page.

Your Customer/Account details

If you have already registered, please click on Log In and enter your username and password. (Depending on authority level - You may have the option to CRUD other users within your organisation.....)

Price and Availability

You may search for a particular book by entering the ISBN (10 or 13 digit), author surname(s) or title (part word - min 3 letters) in the relevant text box. For multiple ISBNs click on Complex Search where you can either cut and paste a list of ISBNs, and quantities, or input a list directly into McGraw-Hill CSS .

How do I place an order via the McGraw-Hill CSS website?

You may order a particular book by entering the ISBN (10 or 13 digit), author surname(s) or title (part word - min 3 letters) in the relevant text box in the "Search Facility".

For multiple ISBNs click on "Multi Line Ordering" where you can either cut and paste a list of ISBNs, and quantities, or input a list directly into McGraw-Hill CSS . Once you have found the book(s) you want via the search facilities explained above, click on the Add to Basket button. Check your basket is correct (you can amend and delete at this point), and continue to checkout when you're happy with your order. You can also choose to "Continue Shopping" at this point if you'd like to add further products to your basket.

Once you have all the books you want in your basket, please check the quantities. (the small basket icon will be Red if you have added the quantity or Black if you haven't). If you remove or add any books at this stage, be sure to click on the 'Recalculate' button to update your basket before proceeding to check out.

The sub-total and grand-total are shown. Delivery/shipping charges will be shown on the final page of the check out screen.

Quotations

Multiple shopping baskets being individually identified by a unique PO number. Each search result can be parked separately to your current basket. You will need to place your parked items back into your basket if you wish to submit into an order.

What happens if my book is not available immediately?

These will be dispatched to you as soon as they become available in our Warehouse. You have the option to cancel the order before the books are dispatched should you should wish to do so. What do I do if a book is restricted?

Availability information is shown against each title. As we process your order, we will remind you by e-mail if any items you order are on back order. These will be dispatched to you as soon as they become available in our Warehouse. You have the option to cancel the order before the books are dispatched should you should wish to do so. Cancelling/amending an order

If you wish to cancel or make amendments to an order, or part of an order, that has not been dispatched, please contact Customer Services on +44 (0)1628 502720 or e-mail css_help@mcgraw-hill.com and quote your order number or your purchase order reference.

Delivery & Dispatch

Delivery to your nominated UK based shipper is free of charge. However, if you choose an alternative method e.g. courier, the charges will be calculated based on the delivery address, weight and method. (The charges will be calculated on the final check out screen).

Returns Policy
  1. This policy does not apply to books sold by McGraw-Hill on a 'firm sale basis' and on a 'title exclusive basis'.
  2. All books returned must be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice or a document stating the correct ISBN, quantities returned and appropriate invoice numbers. Any product returned from an unknown source cannot be credited.
  3. Shrink-wrap packs will only be accepted as complete items, crediting will then follow the normal rules.
  4. Product containing computer software will only be credited if the software is unopened.
  5. Credit will be refused for the following reasons:-
    1. Books returned are out of print* for more than 3 months.
    2. Books returned less than 90 days from date of last invoice.
    3. Books returned more than 12 months from date of last invoice.
    4. Books not purchased from, or published by, McGraw-Hill.
    5. Books returned without corresponding invoice number/copies of corresponding invoices.
    6. Books damaged as a result of inadequate transit packaging or handling in transit.
    7. Books received in unsaleable condition.
    8. Books received with labels.
    9. Books received with a security tag.
  6. If books are returned which do not meet the criteria of section 5 the customer will be notified and given 10 days to collect. If this does not happen then the books will be destroyed and no credit will be issued.
  7. A claim for goods damaged in transit or short shipment of goods must be made within 10 days of receipt, otherwise no liability will be accepted.
  8. All returns must be sent for the attention of the Customer Returns department and be prepaid. We will accept the cost of return carriage only if the cause of a return is clearly our fault, (e.g. incorrect book sent), and we receive the appropriate paperwork..
  9. Claims for credit where we have no record of receipt in our warehouse will not be entertained unless the customer can provide proof of return delivery.
  10. If books are returned which do not meet the criteria of section 5 the customer will be notified and given 10 days to collect. If this does not happen then the books will be destroyed and no credit will be issued.
  11. A claim for goods damaged in transit or short shipment of goods must be made within 10 days of receipt, otherwise no liability will be accepted.
